# Fluid Physics and Soft Matter

## Schedule:
The Stockholm University course Fluid Physics and Soft Matter
runs from 2 Nov. 2026 to 17 Dec. 2026. The final exam is on
12 Jan. 2026. Detailed course schedule is
<a href='./Schedule_FK7069_2026.pdf'>here </a>.

## Plan:
Each lecture is typically divided into two 45 min. sessions
with a 15 min. break in between. Some of the lectures will
be used as tutorials or problem solving session.
There will in-class quizes, homeworks, and a final exam.
The final grade will be averaged over these three
with the following weights, 10%, 40% and 50%.
In addition, you need to score at least 50% in the final exam
to pass.

## use of AI

I do not see how any use of AI can help you learn this course
material better. Nevertheless, if you want, you can use any AI to help
you. If you do, then you need to include the
following:

- Which part of the work is yours and which part was done by AI.
- Exactly which AI (include version).
- What prompt you used.
- Even if you use AI to do your homework, you need to write it out
  in your own comprehensible handwriting.

There will be no penalty if you use AI following the rules above;
although I do NOT recommend using AI.

## Syllabus

A sketch of the topics I plan to cover is <a href='./SM2026_syllabus.pdf'>here</a>.
Latexed lecture notes that covers about 70% of the course material
is <a href="./SM2026Notes.pdf">here</a>.
This is a large file, it is best to download it and then open it in a pdf viewer.

Please be warned that the notes may contain mistakes, both
trivial (typographical etc) and non-trivial.
In addition, the handouts I used last year
are <a href='./SM2026_Handouts.zip'>here as a zipped file</a>.
The boardwork follows these handouts quite closely.
